English blog

Before this class I hadn't even thought about blogging, but now that I have, I can say it was an incredible experience, not only to practice my english but also to be able to express myself, talking about things I enjoy or just to vent.
Although I think the blog idea was great, it is still an obligation so I was always worried if I had complied with the minimum words and that does make it less entertaining. For those reasons I prefer the free posts wich alow us to write about anything that interests us, unlike other post in which we had to talk about the career and that sort of things.  I don't really know if my writing skills improved that much, or like I'd like but helped as a reminder and, of course, keep practicing.
For the future I would like each person to choose his topic and perhaps a response from the teacher saying what we need to improve.
Changing the topic, I'm a little sad that this is the last post- I don't like when things end, which is very immature, but is a reality- and though there were moments that I really don't want to see this, I enjoyed too.
So, I think this is it...the last one.

See you next time...

Favorite subject

This semester I'm not particular excited by any subject, rather say they are all pretty boring to me. However last semester my favorite subject was classic cinema. Basically the professor talked about the history of cinema, its evolution and the change through time and the people that influenced the development of the film industry. We watched extracts of films in classes, and talked about its importance for the history of the cinema. Also I think we learned so much more, like about the art in general, culture, etc.
And I really think that you're right Belén, when you say that a teacher can makes the difference because there's nothing better than a teacher with passion for what he's doing. Besides if a boring, slow and plain person had done that class, it would have been awful and a complete torture.
Anyway, that didn't happen and we learned about different actors, directors and writers. We made quite interesting and interactive works that we could enjoy too.
I think I liked classic cinema because the teacher was a very particular and interesting person, and because in the school I always liked history, I have always excited to know about things that happened years ago, but still affecting us today.
So how couldn't I like?

Santiago

I'm a city person, I've always loved it. I like that everything is in here and don't really bothers me the noise, the crowd and our frantic lifestyle. I can say that I actually enjoy a little. Because that's only the price you have to pay for living in a metropoli and the things that brings, like education, health, entertainment etc. However I hate the pollution, I think that's the worst part of all, of course, because directly attacks our health.
I can understand the people who likes the countryside, the quiet and the peaceful life, but I really think it's too boring, and for me it's good just for a while. I don't know if you have noticed but everything in some of the other regions of the country seem so slow. That really stresses me, and it's only because we run all the day here and I'm so use it. I think that's weird because everyone is always complaining about the city but I like it, is my home, the place I've ever been and where I grew up.
A site I like from the city is really the center, I studied there so I know the place well, I like the people there, always in a hurry, the national monuments, the parks and the encounter of different cultures. For all those things I love Santiago I know it's not the best capital of the world and very bad things too, but I think has its charm in any way.
What do you think?

Roberto

When I thought a photo of which speak to this task, I immediately thought of this. I don't know why really but I've always liked this particular. Also, I didn't want to write about a picture wich means nothing to me. Some years ago I started collecting polaroids of people that I didn't know. Mainly because their faces gave me laughter and because I was excited about the idea of one day meet them in the street and recognize them and that they had no idea that I do know something about them. I know it sounds a little weird but I really thought is was very funny at that time and I really don't do anything bad with the photos, I just keep them... Whatever, the thing is that of all the photos that I have (about fifty). This one was always my favorite because of his attitude, watch him, is like come one I'm the best. Ha, I love him.
Unfortunately I don't know the name of the person in the picture, but he has the face of Roberto to me. I imagine a grown man, a little tired of the routine, but still a nice guy. He's in an office, so he was working, and I always imagined him as an accountant.
If I don't know the real name of Roberto, the less I know the name of the person who took the photo. It's sad because time after I found this, I started to save the names of the people too. Now that I'm writing this I realize that all this is very creepy (my parents had told me, but I didn't heed them) In my defense I swear that I haven't done anything wrong with the photos, only keep them. And right now I can't get rid of them because I have a sort of affection.

Game of Thrones

The assignment of writing whatever we wanted is for some time, and I  hadn't done it because I wasn't sure about what to write, but now I have found a very good subject:
Game of Thrones. I really don't know how to start, maybe just saying that the show is soooo good and I've become a fan of it. And I want to punish myself for having ignored for so long.
The TV series is based on the series of fantasy novels called Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin. The first novel is titled just like the TV show.
At the very beginning, the story is very real, I mean you see the history of a kingdom wich is full of treason, wiles, death and all the kind of things that happens for the dispute of power. But then, the dragons are born, and with the dragons all the other magic appears; faceless man, wizards, war fire, etc. It's awesome because the characters also don't know what happens. And what's even better is all the people who are fighting fot the iron throne.
I don't want to tell anything else because I can ruin the surprise (in the case you are lost in space, just like I was) if you haven't seen it yet.
Game of Thrones is a series to watch, enjoy and be impressed by the intelligent story and the high quality of the production.

Les Misérables

Les Misérables is a french novel by Victor Hugo. Is considerer one of the best novels of history and my favorite book too.The novel tells the story of Jean Valjean who ends up in prison for stealing a loaf of bread. This is only the beginning because the book covers topics such as justice, love and revolution. The protagonist: Jean Valjean,is the hero and also the villain, his personality is full of nuances. He grows, evolves throughout the book. As in real life. That's why I loved the story so much. Is very complex and exciting.

You can excite with the danger of battle, the courage of the characters, recognize your own fears on the paper, or simply question certain things. All of that in this amazing novel that is Les Misérables.
This wonderful story has been adapted to the cinema, radio, tv and also to the theater as   a musical. The musical is well known, however, for me, there's nothing like the book.
So if you haven't read it yet, do it right now if you can. Because you really can't imagine what you are missing.

Technology Stuff

Probably my favourite piece of technology is my old mobile phone. My parents gave it to me for christmas like 4 years ago. I loved it because I could make some horrible photos of my best friend (the camera of my phone was perfect fot that), listening to music, send messages, watch and make videos. Also I could safe files in it. I used it everyday for my entartaiment, my phone was my salvation when classes were too boring. I liked it because I found it cute and comfortable, very useful.
Unfortunately I do know how my life is whitout it (I know that sounds too dramatic, but at the beginnig was horrible)  I always thought it would be terrible if my phone disappeared because I had so many important things in it. The thing is, that one day I went to preu and simply lost it, I really don't know if someone stole my phone or It was my fault. I guess I'll never know but i miss it so much...
